Assistance to States for Developing Export Infrastructure & Allied Activities (ASIDE)

To provide adequate, reliable infrastructure & to boost up the export of the State, the roll of State Government is to boost up production of exportable surplus by providing the infrastructural facilities such as land, power, water, roads, connectivity, pollution control measures etc.

 

Thus, ASIDE is a scheme for development of infrastructure for exports with coordinated efforts by Central & State Governments.

 

State level Export Promotion Committee (SLEPC) has been constituted under Chief Secretary of the State.

 

The SLEPC has approved Rs. 64.41 Crores on dated 26.03.2003 under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, government of Chhattisgarh for 9 Projects under ASIDE, STPI-HSDC under CIB Schemes of GOI. Out of 9 Projects 2 Projects were of CHiPS (Chhattisgarh Infotech Biotech Society) amounting to Rs. 6.96 Crores and for remaining 7 Projects Rs. 57.45 Crores for the proposals are as under :-
*    Urla Growth Centre, Raipur.
*    Industrial Area, Bhilai Distt. Durg.
*    Jangir-Champa (Export of Kosa Silk)
*    Tilda-Neora Distt. Raipur (Export of Rice)
*    Sirgitti Growth Centre, Bilaspur.
*    BEC Food Zone, Distt. Durg.
*    Bhanpuri & Rawabhata Growth Centre, Distt-Raipur.

Infrastructure development relating to road, drain and street light in major industrial areas, like Urla-Raipur, Bhanpuri-Rawabhata-Raipur, Sirgitti-Bilaspur and Bhiali are taken up. 

These are the old industrial areas of Chhattsigarh State where Exporting Units are situated and needed basic infstructural support like road, drain and street light for ease in movements of raw materials and finished goods.

 

The Second Meeting of the State Level Export Promotion Committee (SLEPC) was held under the chairmanship of Shri P.Joy Oommen, Chief Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh at 3.00 PM on Tuesday, 2nd September 2008. The SLEPC has sanctioned following 4 new projects -

1 Upgradation of double lane main road at Light Industrial Area Bhilai, District Durg     Project cost Rs. 566.73 lacs 

2 Export Facilitation Centre at Raipur (CG)     Project cost Rs. 750.00 lacs 

3 Link road connecting export oriented units at Industrial Area Urla,District Raipur & Metal Park to Container Freight Station (CFS) through NH-200 Project cost Rs. 1400.00 lacs 

4 Engineering Park at Heavy Industrial Area, Bhilai (District Durg) Project cost of Rs. 968.00 lacs. 

 

 

The Third meeting of the state Level Export Promotion Committee was held under the chairmanship of Shri P. Joy Oommen, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Chhattisgarh on 29th January 2009. The SLEPC has sanctioned one new project of construction of approach road connectivity for Inland Container Depot at Kapa, Raipur from Raipur- Bilaspur Highway (NH-200). The part project cost of the project of Rs. 499.30 Lakh as shortfall of the total revised project cost of Rs. 1008.30 Lakh out of which the State Government is investing Rs. 509.00 Lakh for the above project.

 

The fourth meeting of the State Level Export Promotion Committee was held under the Chairmanship of Shri P. Joy Oommen, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Chhattisgarh on 28th April 2009. The SLEPC has sanctioned the following two new projects :-

1) Improvement/ upgradation of infrastructure facility for the development of EXIM business in Chhattisgarh for Inland Container Depot, Kapa, Raipur. Project cost of the proposed works within the campus of ICD, is Rs. 3.10 Crores.

2) Construction of double lane main road with 7.00M. carriage way on each side along with road divider, street light, cross drainage work and one minor bridge in place of existing 7.50M. two lane single carriage way main road at Industrial Area, Sirgitti, Distt. Bilaspur (C.G.) Cost of project is Rs. 21.00 Crores.

 

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India has released Rs. 38.29 Crores till 2010, out of which utilization certificates worth Rs. 33.07 Crores have already been sent to GoI.
